Northern California

Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, Crescent City, CA, August 2022 Awesome, huge redwoods right in our site, nice visitor center, spaces are pretty private.  The river runs right through the park and in the summer there is a walking bridge to get to Stout Grove to see some really large trees. Dry camping.  We had the handicap spot so very level and nice.

Calaveras Big Trees, Arnold CA, August 2020  Beautiful state park,  make sure to bring the car because the hiking is pretty far from the RV camping.  Dogs only on fire roads.

Empire Landing Campground – Parker, AZ ( January 2014)  Actually it is across the river from Parker in California.  Very clean restrooms.  Water and Electric sites or dry camping in designated spots, all right on the river.  There is a nice beach to relax on or to launch your rubber boat.

Lake Siskiyou Campground and RV Resort – Mt. Shasta, CA  (June 2013)  A really nice campground on a very nice small lake.  Large swimming beach.  Sites are rustic and spread out.  We really enjoyed spending a week here with friends.  Plenty of space to spread out.  There is a really nice golf course within a couple of miles.  Mt. Shasta Town is only about 5 miles with a supermarket and a cute downtown.

Lakehead Campground & RV Park – Lakehead CA ( October 2011).  Small, park near Lake Shasta.  Our spot was a pull thru.  Nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about either.

Sugar Barge RV Park – Bethel Island (August-October 2009)  Workamped here.  Very nice park, clean.  The spots can be small but the owners are great.  The river access is perfect and the weather is not too hot – a little windy. We workamped here.

Jackson Rancheria – (October 2008) Indian Casino RV Park.  Very new, nice sites on lawn.  Not near anything except the casino.  They didn’t like Paul’s campfire in a can!

Napa County Fairgrounds –  Calistoga, CA Many times.  Great place, close to winery’s and town.

The RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino –  Corning, CA June 2013.  Large sites, no trees. Was very hot when we stayed overnight.

Sherwood Valley Casino Campground – Willits, CA  August 2013 –  Not good!  no camping only parking lot.  Scary part of town although we did spend the night and it was very quiet.  Dogs can’t be out.

Southern California

San Clemente SB – San Clemente, CA.  (April 2013)  Right on the cliff above a nice beach.  Pull thru sites, full hook ups.  Need reservations. Sites are not private and was noisy on the weekend.  Everyone very nice.  The village of San Clemente was really cute.

Rancho Jurupa Rark – Riverside CA.  A very nice county park with a small stocked lake for fishing.  Site #3 is in the older part but right next to the lake.

Avila Beach –  Been here many times.  Beautiful sites right on the beach.  No hook ups or full hook ups.  Pricey but the view is amazing.

Rincon Beach – Ventura (November 2009) Right along the ocean, no hook ups – $25 per night – Take Pacific Coast Hwy exit and turn right along the ocean and pick a site.

Campland by the Bay – San Diego. (November 2009)  Very nice large park.  Sites are close but the amenities are many.

Santa Fe RV Park – San Diego (November 2009)  Right next to the freeway, clean but too noisy.  We didn’t stay
